Welcome to Greenwood Baptist Church
At Greenwood our vision is to raise up a generation of passionate disciples of Jesus Christ dedicated to proclaiming the gospel for the glory of God.
This week's sermon:
The Armour of God Ephesians 6: 10- 18
We have just concluded our sermon series from the book of Daniel, and discovered that God proved absolutely sovereign over all world empires.
The secret of Daniel’s success and wisdom was his steadfast prayer life. Despite king Darius’ order not to pray, Daniel “went to his house where he had windows in his upper chamber open toward Jerusalem. He got down on his knees three times a day and prayed and gave thanks before his God” (Dan 6:10)
That same night he was thrown to the lions, only to emerge the following morning entirely unscathed. God sent His angel to shut the lions’ mouths.
Near the end of his life he prayed three full weeks for Judah’s deliverance from Babylon and return to their homeland. His prayers were delayed due to a spiritual hierarchy of demon forces that controlled and fought on behalf of resisting world kingdoms.
In light of the current worldwide chaos we are presently experiencing, I believe it’s imperative that we equip ourselves in order to face the enemy.
Over the next number of weeks we, here at Greenwood, will be looking at a new sermon series entitled, The Armour of God. We will be considering subjects like the spiritual war itself, the enemies we face, the devil’s schemes against the people of God, the armor provided for us, and most of all, how to appropriate God’s mighty victory that Christ has secured for us at the cross.
Come with open hearts, bring friends and neighbors, and be prepared to hear what the Lord is speaking to His church.
