The Green Family and the "L" family
Asia
P&J have been partners with Interserve Canada since 2011. They and their four young children live in a Central Asian country and have a deep desire to bring the transforming power of the gospel to university students and young professionals. Central Asia, a region made of 5 former Soviet countries, is situated north of Afghanistan and west of China. In this large, predominantly Muslim region, there are over 50 million people, and less than 1% of those identify themselves as followers of Jesus. Central Asian countries have been identified as either restricted or hostile to Christian witness. Despite these hard facts, God has been at work, establishing His church. In this context, small groups of Christians on University campuses have developed through the work of International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES). P&J love the mission of IFES and pray that it will be ever more accomplished in Central Asia: "Students built into communities of disciples, transformed by the gospel and impacting the university, the church and society for the glory of Christ”.

In June 2014, we sent a team of 11 missionaries to touch the lives of people who work in the dump (transfer/ recycling station) in Quito Ecuador.
- While in Quito we were able to work alongside and encourage Pastor Jose and Terese in their day to day ministry as they served the 'Recyclers' from the Zambiza Dump in Quito.
- We helped with the Ladies Ministry daily, cooking with them, giving them facials and manicures, singing, dancing and sharing testimonies.
- We helped with the after school program, singing, dancing, doing crafts, preparing meals, and accompanying them on a field trip to the petting zoo.
- Throughout the week we worked at the Quito Women's Resource Centre, tiling and grouting walls and floors, painting walls and installation of two bathrooms and a sink room…and lots of cleaning.
Please pray for the people of Quito, and the missionaries living there. For more information on this project please contact Heather Peake.
