This week's Small Group Questions:
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a small group?
A small group is usually made up of 10 people who meet weekly to study, share, and support one another in their Christian lives. Each group is led by a trained leader and a typical meeting lasts for an hour and a half, followed by light refreshments!
Why are small groups important?
At Greenwood, we consider small groups to be a central part of our ministry. Small groups are designed to be the place where growth takes place. Change in sin habit, attitudes, character; all the things Christ would have us grow out of. We want to grow and mature and small groups are the place where we can encourage, support, and challenge one another to deepen our relationship with Christ.
How long does a group last?
Each small group session lasts 12 to 16 weeks, with groups running in the fall, winter and spring months. at the end of each session, you have the choice of staying in the same group, trying a new group, or even taking a break. our desire is that groups will stay together throughout the session.
What is the required commitment?
Small groups have a duration between twelve to sixteen weeks and take place once a week. Our preference is that people choose and commit to a small group for the entire session but people can join mid-session.
