Questions About our Church Service
Our in-person Sunday Service is at 10:30am.
1st TIME VISITOR?
WHAT CAN I EXPECT WHEN I ARRIVE AT GREENWOOD?
When you arrive at Greenwood you can find lots of parking in the large parking lot behind the church. As you enter the main foyer of the church you'll be warmly greeted and directed to the children's ministry area or to the sanctuary, our ushers will be pleased to provide you with a bulletin and help you find a seat. If you are a first-time visitor please let your usher know and he or she will offer you a Visitor's Package that contains welcome material and useful information about our church and the ministries available here. As well, before the service begins, special announcements are presented on the PowerPoint screen at the front of the church which may be of interest to you.
WHAT ARE YOUR SERVICES LIKE?
Our Sunday morning service begins at 10:30 AM. The services normally last about an hour and a half. Sometimes, when special presentations are being made or when a guest speaker is visiting, the service will last ten to fifteen minutes longer than usual. During the first half of the service we worship together through song, prayer and tithes and offerings. The remainder of the service is spent studying God's Word. At Greenwood we value unity in multi-generational worship - that is people of all ages coming together to praise the name of Jesus - and therefore during the service you can expect an upbeat blend of both contemporary music and traditional hymns and choruses. We observe the Lord's Supper monthly, generally on the second Sunday of the the month.
WHAT'S AVAILABLE FOR MY CHILDREN DURING THE SERVICE?
At the beginning of each service we worship together with our children and then release them to head to the children's wing for Children's Church. Classes are available for children from age one to Grade 8. We maintain a healthy ratio of helpers to children and have guidelines our teachers must follow to ensure that we provide a safe and positive classroom environment.
WHAT OTHER MINISTRIES ARE AVAILABLE FOR ME AND MY FAMILY?
At Greenwood we are committed to seeing the whole family strengthened in the knowledge of Biblical values and truth. Therefore you will find many valuable ministries to support you and your family in your relationship with Jesus Christ. For more information on the ministries available at Greenwood visit the 'MINISTRIES' section of this website.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
You'll find freedom to wear whatever is comfortable for you. We are more concerned about real life issues than what you are wearing. Some like to dress up - others prefer to be casual - it's all good!
